The saturday morning I had to go round my girlfriends house to pick up some clothes and my shoes (long story why they were there) and then dash back home to go up to Morley Hayes where the wedding was taking place. I went and took a seat in the ceramony while my parents went in search of the bride. One unusual thing about the groom and best man was that because they were scottish, they were in kilts. So was my uncle (not the birthday boy) but his was an irish one instead.
Afterwards, we went outside for photos to be taken. We thought the couple had gone for a game of golf cause they vanished and we saw them on a golf buggy. Anyhow, my uncle who did celebrate his birthday hadn't shown up. Hungover and so because we were due to eat a lunch which had already been paid for, I dragged my girlfriend down to eat it. She didn't mind cause she was pissed off that she didn't get an invite.
After the meal, the toasts were made and my dad shocked everyone by being friendly and making a great speech, normally he is a misreable bugger. The reception came and went with us leaving at midnight, very tired and slightly tipsey. Didn't get to sleep till about one cause my girlfriend slept over and two people in a single bed isn't that comfy.
Had to get up at 9 sunday morning because it was my girlfriends birthday (I said it was hectic) and she wante to open her presents. We then had to leave so she could get back home and have lunch with her mum. I meet them at the pub later and we stayed ther for 5 hours playing pool, drinking and playing sticky fingers. Her mum then kindly bought us a takeaway which stuffed me. I finally got home at quater to 11 absolutely shattered.
Devious Comments
Anyway, statutory good wishes to the couple, and I hope study leave is otherwise slightly more relaxing for you.
